So, last week, in the midst of my big move (and everything else), I met up with Tina and Rhiannon at www.foodchain.org.uk. I've been volunteering for them at their Islington kitchen for a while now and have been interested in helping them out with some of their digital marketing, both in a strategic and practical sense. They've got a really great campaign coming up to raise money around World AIDs Day (more about that as it gets all confirmed) and I'm off to their annual communications away day in November to see if I can volunteer any advice / practical technical help on their digital communications strategy and overhaul of their site.
If you're not familiar with Food Chain, its a great charity that supports vulnerable people with HIV / AIDs by providing nutritious meals once a week to those in need and their families. They have kitchens situated all over London to cover the whole region. Most people who get involved give up one Sunday a month to cook, drive or navigate to ensure the food is delivered on time. As I've just moved to SE1 I'll be transferring to the Bermondsey kitchen. I am sure to meet another diverse and lovely bunch of people there too!
